(Link to article) “I mean not a ‘good’ writer or a ‘bad’ writer but simply a writer, a person whose most absorbed and passionate hours are spent arranging words on pieces of paper,” says Joan Didion, an author of Why I Write. Joan Didion was majoring in English. She said that she was not good, nor a terrible write and explained how she began using imagery to write. She uses pictures to write because she has unlimited access to her own mind to explain different things. As like Joan Didion, I like to use imagery as well. I always found that writing was a stress reliever for me. I do not write just as a student in college, I write outside of English class. In high school, I took many writing classes like creative writing, journalism, I wrote for the school newspaper, and I even took additional English classes during my senior year. I enjoy writing because I like to put my thoughts into words on paper and I like to get my point across. I realized that there are so many words in the world and you can never run out of them, there's always something new to discuss. In high school, I always enjoyed writing research papers and I learned from what I wrote. Not only do I actually like to write english papers but I also like to write poems, text, and post on tumblr as well as other social media accounts. I find writing a very useful thing to have.
