(Link to article) “I mean not a ‘good’ writer or a ‘bad’ writer but simply a writer, a person whose most absorbed and passionate hours are spent arranging words on pieces of paper,” says Joan Didion, an author of Why I Write. Joan Didion was majoring in English. She said that she was not good, nor a terrible write and explained how she began using imagery to write. She uses pictures to write because she has unlimited access to her own mind to explain different things. As like Joan Didion, I like to use imagery as well. I always found that writing was a stress reliever for me. I do not write just as a student in college, I write outside of English class. In high school, I took many writing classes like creative writing, journalism, I wrote for the school newspaper, and I even took additional English classes during my senior year. I enjoy writing because I like to put my thoughts into words on paper and I like to get my point across. I realized that there are so many words in the world and you can never run out of them, there's always something new to discuss. In high school, I always enjoyed writing research papers and I learned from what I wrote. Not only do I actually like to write english papers but I also like to write poems, text, and post on tumblr as well as other social media accounts. I find writing a very useful thing to have.

-How Can You Create Fiction When Reality Comes to Call (Carolyn Chute)
-6 Ways to Be a Hemingway-Level Productive Badass (Drake Baer) In the article 'How Can You Create Fiction When Reality Comes to Call?' It was about many distractions that went on throughout the narrators day and she still managed to get things done, well, at least tried to. The narrator says, "Usually it takes three days to get into the writer mode. Three days of quiet non-life mode, lots of coffee and no interruptions." As she continues to get interrupted by many other things around her. In the article '6 ways to be a Hemingway level productive badass, it was about how to get started on a difficult writing piece without any ideas prepared and on top of that, being already distracted by whatever is close by. Though the writer invested the time and tried hard to give all of their attention towards the writing piece, it was impossible to even get started. Personally, as a college student, I also witness many amounts of distractions that stop me from finishing my homework. As I attempt to write a paper, I witness and hear many things going on around me. For example, I can hear my dog barking at any little noise he hears, my brother screaming at his PlayStation if he loses (haha), friends knocking on my door to hangout with my other brother, and I can also hear my tv across my bedroom. If I managed to ignore the distractions around me, I truly believe that I can become a better writer. I let distractions take my attention away from my papers and it is hard for me to become focused again. If I focused more on my writing and less on the interruptions going on, I can definitely become a better writer. To avoid distractions:
